I think that the server needs a new design and name (as you've said) to show what the server is for...not family gaming ...
New Names- Discord n ChillPapiChillI think we need something that shows to people obviously what the server is for...talking mainly...They don't use words that people wouldn't usually use such as papifg and it shouldn't have abbreviations as looking at it at a glance makes it even more confusing so less people will join. The colour schemes for the server logo and forums should be changed to warmer colours as this will attract peoples attention and looks nice to look at. The current logo works well with the background though because they contrast each other as they're on opposite sides of the colour wheel so i'm not 100% sure about a colour but it should be changed to slightly warmer colours if possible.
Simple but obvious- Channels should be changed to have specific uses i think such as having an Osu chat because its the only thing some people talk about, and maybe an anime chat because some people *cough* dont want it in general and may drive some people away as we've seen it has done.Doing this makes it easier to communicate with people etc.
Rule Additions- No constant spamming of half sentences as it just spams the chat and makes it harder to read. It also makes new people or shy people hard to join a conversation because theres a new message every couple of seconds.
I may have extra suggestions but i can't think of them as writing this post

We already have divided channels for specific things. We have a #games channel for games and a #tv-talk channel for stuff such as anime, tv shows, and also mangas and any series in general. I haven't seen anyone leave because of some minor discussions in the other channels anyway. If we started making channels for every game or show type we'd end up with hundreds of them. Take for example #overwatch, #osu, #undertale, #anime, #manga, #comedy-shows, #talk-shows, and so on.I think the current division is fine.
But I do see a need of a channel to use bot commands or just spam general randomness, since *cough* you *cough* we do that in #music where we're supposed to, you know, share music.
As for the half a sentences rule, while I see your point (I know you suggested that because of how I type in chat, you b-baka) I also know that papifg (or whatever we will call it if we change name) is a chatroom. It's supposed to have new messages every second since that's its nature as a chatroom. The fact that they're faster or all at once is a detail. You're right, it's not a good thing, but this rule is currently] useless imo. Let me explain why.
Instead of typing two sentences in two lines, I could type them in one, and that'll not only take more time, but make some discussions much harder to read (while we're discussing with calm, not just spamming). Say for example you finished your first sentence and someone types something else before you send it: the rule doesn't allow you to divide them so you have two possibly unrelated sentences together. Now imagine that with more than one discussion at the same time, and with more people together. That is what happened today when we were discussing about the "2009 package" let's not talk about that.
Also I think we can agree that ten lines for ten sentences or a giant paragraph made of the same ten sentences are both a problem. And we rarely see this "spam" anyway, since we are barely ever discussing as actively as we were today.
pls enjoy opinion - GV

Really like this post, and I can see where you're coming from with the new name, though I'm not too keen on the warm colour thing. I will definitely try it out though. Maybe during the summer I'll devote my time towards new overall designs. And if you want, you could maybe help with designing too - seeing as you've got a good eye for it.
The whole dedicated channel thing is something that has been brought up multiple times in my head. If the server grows, the demand for more channels will become un-avoidable. We've been adding and deleting channels recently, learning what works and what doesn't work. I'll definitely try and implement an osu! chat and change #tv_talk to #anime. Though it may make new members think the main discord could be an anime server. So I have conflicted thoughts on whether it will work. We'll see how it goes.
The rule addition is a good idea. Sometimes the chat moves up too fast for comfort due to some people fragmenting their messages and it gets extremely irritating. I'll add that into our rules. Added: 6. Do not fragment your messages. Send a single message without splitting it into individual messages. If the rule is broken, you will be warned. If it happens again then you will be muted for 10 minutes.
EDIT: After reading GV's opinion, an Anime chat doesn't sound too juicy. #tv_talk is fine for now. As for the !osu channel idea, I think we just need to be more brutal with rule #5.
ANOTHER EDIT:The rule I made sounds too vague. If anybody could think of a better way to word it, please message me.

I didnt mean a channel for every tiny detail, i mean MAJORITY conversations that not everyone is involved in such as anime or osu etc. Typing two sentences in one line isnt a hard thing, nor it take so much time, the only way you lose the attention of the people reading would be if you had adhd just saying... but yeah i get you that its okay to do it sometimes but when theres loads of people doing it, it gets pretty frustraiting
